Driver Quotes

"Looking forward to seeing the start replay :} First Lambo tried to squeeze me into the wall. I always start faster than Lambo and was alongside after just a few lengths. I eased back for safety into the hairpins but Lambo went wide so I powered through and was a paintcoat ahead coming into turn 3. I could sense Lambo wasn't really aware of my position so eased back a bit, even so we both went through that corner side by side.

I fell into second, being the best I could realistically hope for at Canada anyway, it being a Lambo specialty.

Sat in close behind Lambo for a bit then sailed by as he spun out on the last chicane. Sweet. Just stay on and stay fast, I thought. Lambo caught and passed again, then spun on the chicane, again. How easy is this?

Then I fucked up a bit and lost position, ghost getting by too, so I settled for 3rd." - Flouncy - GFI

"Yes it is one of my pet tracks, but I won't rate it as my best track. I made two mistakes while on my pole lap so there is more time to get, can easily go under 1.14. But 1.14:2 is pretty solid so I parked it. At the start of the race you start in the inside which makes the turn into turn one tricky, which is why I drift out wide to cut in, it didn't feel like I was cutting Ben off, but I haven't seen the footage yet.

First 3 or 4 laps I put in good times and was pulling away, till on the last chicane I made a mistake. Kikz and Ben got in front and I went on to chase back Kikz down. He made a mistake and I was able to go into second. That put me right up behind Ben. Going into the last chicane again, I got a good run right behind Ben and I don't know what happened here, but the rear just went and I spun. Ghost got by as well and I was once again following them. I pitted and I think came out 4th right behind Kikz. He made a mistake and I was chasing Ben. I eventually caught up to Ben and he made a mistake too and I was able to pass, so now I was chasing ghost.

I eventually caught up but traffic was hard and I couldn't get past quickly which cost alot of time. The last 3 laps were almost pure bonzi hero or zero laps. Unfortunately I ran out of laps, and only 2 tenths separate ghost and me. I made two mistakes which cost me the race. But that's racing. Will look foward to next week now. Ghost didn't make a mistake and was a deserved winner." - Atomic Lambo - Force India

"I'd practice this a bit, not as much as Turkey, but I was prepared. I'd put in a few 1:14.2's in practice so was looking foward to the race and a decent qualifying on the front row. My first set of tyres were a write off as I diced with Fredzfrog, who hard more straight line speed that me but had nothing through the turns. I was significantly up on my times on the last lap, and like a few other people run out of fuel just before the first turn. 1:15.0 is fine though.

Ghost gave me a love tap on T1 L1 that sent me across the grass but I recovered in either P3 or P4 right behind P3. There was some good close racing for many laps, and I think I may have been catching Flouncy, with Lambo closing on me in small increments.

Then at about Lap 17 I put it into the wall (yellow nose) on the corner before the hairpin and pitted at the end of the lap. I came out behind Krispy but got passed him on the next lap when he dropped it on the first hairpin. I stayed about 34-35s behind Flouncy until the end of the race, finishing fourth." - TurrbalTerror - McLaren

"Canada, oh Canada, da da da da da daaaa. I was like a turtle in a lions cage, sure he had to fight to get through my thick shell but he had the overall paced to outrun my every move. His name was Lambo, and this is his track. I have no doubt of it.

So when you are in the lead all you can do is keep watching those sector times and pray that the laps run out before the lion catches up. The start of the race coming into turn 1 I was admittedly going too fast, but Kikz, I would not had touched you I believe if I was not touched myself. Sorry anyway, I'll pay the panel beater. The race was full of action, most of the way I had someone in front of me which was good, I love being behind someone, it kinda gives me my lines.

Battled Sora, Fredz, Krispy,Bobajor and Kikz up to the fighting pair at the top. Lambo spun on the final chicane and I managed to slip by without incident(OMG! you should see the replay). Then chased down Flouncy. I pitted on lap 10 behind FLouncy, then passed him as he was in the pits the next lap coming out in front by 2 seconds. The rest of the arce I just tried to get a lead. Managing to get the lead to 6 seconds.

Towards the ends of the race I did not need vibration in the steering wheel, my heart was pumping a million miles an hour. The lead got down to 3.5 seconds and it was then that I realised it was Lambo behind Flouncy, not Kikz. Kikz was there a second ago. Lambo passed Flouncy a couple of laps later and started catching me at an alarming pace. I managed to hold it off after we came up to some traffic and finally someone took Lambo down at Montreal." - Ghost - GFI
