In.

Drove a couple of laps last night to understand the track. Much longer track than Silverstone. I dont think there will be as many slow downs on this one. Fingers crossed.

Can we configure the server to be Practice only for the nights leading up to the race? I think I have asked this before, but cant remember the answer.

Probably In. I got a RL karting thing most of Sunday and an injured shoulder, so maybe can't turn the wheel so good come Sunday night. Has anyway tried the track yet? I gave it my first run last night. It's a lot different from last week. Good luck to you guys who don't practice beforehand ;) It took me about an hour or so to get up to world record pace, so you might be alright still, but it's a lot more complicated circuit than Silverstone.

I can configure the server to load the options for race night with a 23 hour practise when someone enters the lobby. But these settings can be changed by the first person who enters the server so it may not work as expected.

Is that what you're asking?

Kinda, just to encourage the guys to practice online with each other, rather than privately.

I have been doing a bit of practice for this round so I hopefully don't get totally smashed like last Sunday :P - Interested to know what kind of lap times others are getting?

1:49's here.
I just installed new pedals though and it's a whole new world. That time was with the old, familiar pedals.

Juses, I was pushing and still only managing 1:56's average. :/ - The vehicle set up is locked to default stable setup in the race correct? I was also saw mention of a PC2 Dedicated Server but I cannot see it online, is that still a thing?

Yeah completely locked. I just did a practice session with MrTran and he was simialr pace, high 1:54's I was doing low 1:50's. But still getting used to pedals :) high 1:48's optimal on old pedals.

At least you've got a couple of benchmark times to aim your practice at. My times are going to be near the front of the grid though, so don't worry too much if you don't get near those.

3rd place was 2.5% slower than me (pole) last weekend. Then the rest of the field was within about a second of that, down to 4.5% slower in last place. That means 1:53.0 through to about 1:55.0, will be mid field and back.

I expect pole will be in the low 1:49's, perhaps even a 1:48.x if the conditions are right.

Group A will be about 1:49.0 - 1:52.0
Group B will be about 1:53.0 to 1:55.0

If you look at last weeks results there were two clear groups (I've called them A and B) One group was myself and mesafto, qualified in the 1:12's . The rest of the field that day qualified between 1:14.3 and 1:16. That's what I've called group B. Group A was missing VeloXR, Stocko, and Bioweapon, all of who I expect to be doing 1:50.x or lower.

Hopefully that's given you (and the other new guy) some indication of lap times.
Also, don't get too bothered if you're not in the 1:55's. The main thing is you have fun and learn how to drive in traffic.

Thanks, the benchmarks were what I was after mostly. :) Do the locked setups allow changes to fuel quantity or absolutely no changes at all?

Only one way to learn squidy.... Lots of laps!

Dont try to push too hard at the beginning of learning the track/car. Brake early and get your lines right, then start to brake later until your on the threshold of missing your lines. - At least this is what i do. Once you know the Gt5 you can anticipate your braking markers, and get up to speed quicker.

A technique I use when learning a new car/track is to do laps in top gear only. Forces me and the car to go slower and pay more attention to being smooth.

Similarly I drive around slowly and get used to the track / car. Overdoing it off the bat is a bad habit to get into - something I had to unlearn.

Good video on practising here;

Can't make changes to fuel. I'd suggest not even going into the setup menu as PC2 sometimes gives a maximum tank after doing so.

Weather is looking pretty decent for race day.
