I wonder if the "epic" cars, the cars that are fun to drive, don't exist in other sims. Take the Formula Rookie for example: an imaginary car. I think we can all (except millen

) agree it's a fun car to drive. I don't think it's realistic though. When I first jumped in I drove it like I drive the Skip Barbers and I was nowhere on pace. Many of us were in that pre-season practice session in the car, and I really struggled.
I had the same problem in the fun night last Sunday. I was initially seconds slower than Velo in the GT5's at Laguna Seca, a track I know very well. Once I stopped trying to drive it realistically I was on par with him. Repeat at Bathurst in the GT3's, another track I know very well. I was nearly 10s slower than Velo, and 8 seconds slower than cleadge, trying to drive the like I drive iRacing (not just the GT3's in iRacing). I switched back to iRacing and was the same pace as Velo's PC2 times, using the iRacing Bathurst and GT3 combination.
I've problably complained about this disconnect a heap of times. Sorry! PC2 just amazes me every time I switch to a new car and drive it like a car should be driven (well at least how I think it should be). Then I switch to "drive it like I stole it" mode and I'm seconds faster per lap, hanging the tail out and spinning the rears up.
It's still a fun game though, and the Rookies are great fun.Happy to admit I like PC2 a lot more than I did 12 months ago
