And by inconsistently I mean compared to AC, iRacing, and AMS.

I think that patch is called Project Cars 3

It really is the game's biggest flaw. Some cars are epic, others balls.

I wonder if the "epic" cars, the cars that are fun to drive, don't exist in other sims. Take the Formula Rookie for example: an imaginary car. I think we can all (except millen  ) agree it's a fun car to drive. I don't think it's realistic though. When I first jumped in I drove it like I drive the Skip Barbers and I was nowhere on pace. Many of us were in that pre-season practice session in the car, and I really struggled.

I had the same problem in the fun night last Sunday. I was initially seconds slower than Velo in the GT5's at Laguna Seca, a track I know very well. Once I stopped trying to drive it realistically I was on par with him. Repeat at Bathurst in the GT3's, another track I know very well. I was nearly 10s slower than Velo, and 8 seconds slower than cleadge, trying to drive the like I drive iRacing (not just the GT3's in iRacing). I switched back to iRacing and was the same pace as Velo's PC2 times, using the iRacing Bathurst and GT3 combination.

I've problably complained about this disconnect a heap of times. Sorry! PC2 just amazes me every time I switch to a new car and drive it like a car should be driven (well at least how I think it should be). Then I switch to "drive it like I stole it" mode and I'm seconds faster per lap, hanging the tail out and spinning the rears up. It's still a fun game though, and the Rookies are great fun.

Happy to admit I like PC2 a lot more than I did 12 months ago :) If only there were populated public servers to have a quick blast in

Which ones are the epic cars? :P

Formula Rookie isn't fictional, it's a fFormula Ford. And it is in other Sims. ;)

I thought it was a Fictional Formula Ford type car, and not a Formula Ford car. i.e. based on a FF car, but not a FF car. It's listed as such. A number of their cars are "Fictional". Perhaps it's literally just a Formula Ford with the "Formula Rookie" moniker. Perhaps they wanted a car that resembles a Formula Ford but doesn't match engine, suspesnsion, blue-print etc.

Having driven a Formula Ford in a driving school at Brands Hatch/Indy back in the day, I can vouch that the current PCARS Formula Rookie is a dead-ringer.

I drove a Anglo Formula Ford car down at Easter Creek and there is no way a real car drives like the PC2 car. I know it would depend on how good your sim setup is but you can't compare a real car to a sim version at this level. Its a game.

My take to balance the FFB in this amazing simulator.

Simply perfect, try it.

Start with Gain 100, volume 40, tone 50, Fx 30. Then adjust depending on the car and preferences. Turn down to 0 any dampening or spring effects on the wheel interface if available and set your wheel to your regular tastes (100 strenght is recommended if not DD)

The FFB can be quite heavy so DD wheels users beware.

Replace the ffb_custom_settings file by this one renaming it as such.

Enjoy!

better try it I guess...

Project CARS 2 is cheap again at Mighty Ape.

$18 dollars this time.

Still way more than it's worth, :P but some people might like to buy it to join in the racing here...
