Update: the winner is the F138
Next season on Assetto Corsa will be ASR F1 - S12 in the F138.
The F138 is the logical open wheeler progression from the Lotus Exos 125 S1 and is a car no harder to driver than its predecessor. It'll be great.

Thanks all for voting, and for those who voted GT3, all is not lost. As always we can run another league if there is enough interest. Also, be sure to check out the Automobilista section in Competitions. ASR is starting it's first official AMS series soon and we're running the Caterham Super Sequential - a car that is a really responsive and a fun track day car, infinitely chuckable. You'll love it.

old stuff
Time to choose cars for the next series :)

I'm allowing 2 choices per person.
I would prefer if we didn't race mod content - not saying no, just that's my preference - makes it easier for everyone to have the right version and confidence that the mod isn't dodgy.

DLC from the list above
919 Hybrid 2016 - Porsche Pack III
911 GT3 R 2016 - Porsche Pack III
Cayman GT4 - Porsche Pack III
488 GT3 - Red Pack

Online Test Sessions
There will be test sessions to try out the desired cars. These sessions will be held on Friday nights starting at 8pm AEDT at the Mugello circuit. Sessions will run for 4 hours but you can come and go as you please.

I've got no problem with open setups. What I'd like to see is people sharing their setups openly. The reality is setups don't make people seconds a lap faster, so the top guys need not worry about everyone racing them hard all of a sudden. It will likely reduce the gap though and make it easy for people who can't be bothered looking for setups and don't know who to set up the car. As you know Kobus, the faster drivers on iRacing do this alot on the forums and it doesn't really make a difference to their success in races.

That and it's nice goodwill :)

Cool. I'll vote in a day or three after doing some test driving.

Might also be worth considering which cars are DLC etc. not everyone has all the packs... Part of the problem with DLC. Divides.

Yeah for sure.

Can those that don't have all the DLC please say what they have and vote with what they have access to?

I voted for one of them, and also for the other category.

Can we please consider the Cayman GT4. It's a lovely car. Porche pack, 1 I think.

Who would attend an open practice session where all potential cars are available for drive? It might be of benefit for us all to get on and hoon around for a bit and chat about the merits of each.

Me for sure. That would be a great way to test them out.

Can I suggest Mugello? Great all-round track.

I don't have any of the Porsche Packs yet either.

I notice the title has "Assetto Corsa?" - With a question mark... any reason... :P

Automobilista? Did you think it would take me this long?

I knew you'd pick up on that. I'll let you ponder that a bit longer haha 8-)

Done some testing. Voted for Abarth and other.

I don't like any of these cars. I strongly dislike almost all of them.

All are flacid slow heavy no grip no brakes shitmobiles. Going from the Abarth to the 125 then to these feels really yuck. The logical progression surely one of the new F1 cars?

The 919 is interesting but the cockpit view is horrendous and Trackir doesn't work with the bonnet cam view I know most of you will be using. So not voting for that, for that reason alone. Visibility non-existent, I just can't drive without seeing what's going on, which is a big part of why I like open wheelers. Also the crisp nimble handling of open wheelers.

So of this list only the Abarth has any appeal, but it feels so slow now after the 125s so it's the best of a bad lot.

Yep. ok. I've had a think about it and I was brash. There should certiainly be the option for the new F1 car, as ASR DNA is F1.

I'm renaming 250F to the SF15-T and replacing the GT4 with F138.

Please recast/adjust your votes.

Sweet. Cheers Kikz.

F138 for me. Such a sweet and satisfying car, so nice. Very exciting to drive too. The other one is interesting but all those complex energy systems and in-race adjustments a bit much.

Parkour is this the one you meant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BKZHg6k0XI ?

That does look nice too. Kunos F138 seems a bit more polished, though haven't driven the mod one.

Nah the F138 is what I meant. I agree that the SF15-T is a bit much to figure out, I haven't had much luck understanding the modes, and either just run out of battery or drive like a sloth trying to keep the battery in-charge. How often you change gears and how high you rev the thing changes battery use too, just to add to the confusion...
