Driver Quotes

"Istanbul. It's not a favourite. I can bank a quick lap, but I just can't be consistent at this track. Pole was obviously very close, everyone was clearly fast. I tried a few runs, doing a hot lap then pitting for new tires, then doing a two lap run, then pitted again.

I messed up my lap a few times and just couldn't improve on my time. From 4th I tried to be aggressive on the start, but got surprised when Kikz braked early, so I made contact with his back, but it was square on, and I didn't do damage, and it didn't seam to upset him either so sigh of relief there.

I fought with bobaj0r for a while but I made a few mistakes, and really it's just not my track, I had no rythem. I did try and chase down bobaj0r at the end but he had good pace, so 5th was the best I was going to get." - Atomic Lambo - Force India

"Somehow got to the lead after a couple of laps at Istanbul, kids behind me kept doing doughnuts so I had a great lead. Settled into it and was quietly calculating the points table for my big win, with kikz a decent hundred meters behind me. He was edging closer so I thought I'd better turn it up a bit so switched engine from standard to fast. Mistake. Started getting twitchy and slipped on a couple of corners. kikz was big in the mirrors and I knew he'd drive right through when he was close, as kikz doesn't really do "passing manoevres", he just sorta drives through :}

So I was a bit shakey, car was twitchy and I feared imminent collision with kikz anyway. The inevitable side-by-side through turn 3 and 4 and 5 happened and I gave it away without too much of a fight, figuring he'd come off soon enough anyway. Alas no, he pulled away. I lost it badly a bit later on turn 3, in the sand. Ghost was through anyway so there was no hope to catch them. I just sat in 3rd watching kikz and ghostie's times, knowing they were head to tail and praying there'd be an incident, but sadly there wasn't." - Flouncy - GFI

"During the week I'd hypothesised my pedals were no match for my mighty quads, and I set about setting the pedals to better suit my "driving style". During practice I was getting less brake locks and was running more consistently. I was consistently doing mid 1:26's in practice so was pretty confident of a good qualifying result. So close to the double, but 1:26.33something is the fastest I've been around there, so that's good.

I got a good run off the start (for once!) and went into T1 outside of bobaj0r but held back a little to avoid any possible collision. I got up in inside into turn 4 but had to go wide and then wider as boba took his line into the next turn. Lucky for me his entry into T7 was too quick and got up the inside and was off. I ran at the front until the pitstop then caught and passed Flouncy after he had a few wobbles as I was closing.

Ghost and I fought hard throughout the race and I was just trying to hold it together there, near the end. I'm not sure what ghost saw, but he did say something like "what are you doing kikz." Replay will be interesting. I was just trying to keep on the track at that point (a few laps in IIRC). Good fun racing the entire race." - TurrbalTerror - McLaren

"Istanbul I practiced quite a bit and was happy with my time. Qualifying saw that I should have practiced more coming in at 5th. Good times guys. Race start and I take my usualy caution into the first corner(This seems to get a lot of people out and I am sorry for that, I just like breaking early T1 L1). Anyway came up behind Flouncy and thought I could take him on the left, the when I was right beside him there was lambo closing in from the right, I was the meat in a sandwich, we seperated almost immediately and there goes Krispy straight through the gap, nice move man, lucky, but nice.

Then I settle behind the pack and get passed by a flying Fredz. That's the first 2 corners out of the way and onto the race. caught up to bobjor after lambo spun and we had a good couple of laps until he pitted. Next lap I pitted and came out chasing Kikz.

We had a battle and both spun out only 3 corners from each other trading positions at each. The rest of the race I was trying to Catch him again until we came up to Flouncy who was losing a good .5 seconds per lap. Kikz eventually passed him and a little later Flouncy spun coming onto the back straight. Just managed to pass him without incident and continued chasing Kikz. Nice win man. That was really nice racing from all too." - Ghost - GFI
